Come join us for worship as we celebrate the birth of our savior! Our Christmas worship schedule is below:
Our annual German Christmas service will be Sunday, December 1st at 2:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Come and invite your friends and family to our German service! We will have many wonderful Christmas songs and other musical presentations all sung in the German language. There will be music by the Bavaria Singers. Pastor Doug will preach the sermon in English. Refreshments will be served in the Parlor following the service.
The Christmas Giving Tree will soon be here! The Board of Social Ministry is once again asking for your help to make this a Merry Christmas for the children of Redeemer Crisis Center. The Giving Tree will be in the narthex from November 16 until December 8. You may choose one or more ornaments that specify a child’s age and gender so you may purchase an appropriate gift, not to exceed $20. We are asking you to wrap the gifts and place a tag with identifying information of Boy or Girl and Age on the outside of the package. Please return your gifts any time until Sunday, December 8th as Social Ministry will be making the delivery to Redeemer that day. If you would like to send a gift for an adult, you could purchase a wire-wheeled, large back wheel grocery cart and place it unwrapped under the tree as well. Thank you for your continued generosity to those families in need of Christmas Cheer!
Christmas is a time of joy as we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Church services, dinners with families, opening gifts, sharing Christian love and the blessing of the season are many of the things we look forward to during the holidays. Everyone is not as fortunate as we are so once again, we are asking you to open your hearts to the students at Parma Park school. We will be working with Parma Park to help provide Christmas for several families who cannot provide one for themselves this year. In the near future there will be tickets for needed items on the SCHOOL BUS in the Narthex. Please take one of the tickets, purchase the item(s), and return it wrapped with the ticket attached to the outside of the package. All wrapped and labeled gifts should be placed in the SCHOOL BUS. If you cannot shop, but would like to help, contact Loretta Cross or Jackie Difford. Thank you for helping to share the joys of the season with these families!
The quilt created by the “Happy Sew-n-Sews” on display in the parlor is being raffled by Arts in Action. Tickets are on sale between services in the nursery hallway. The drawing will be held at the end of the 4th Annual Arts in Action sponsored Holiday Craft Show on Saturday, November 9th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The winner need not be present. The Craft Fair will feature handmade holiday gift items created by local artisans. Several Divinity members will offer their art/craft at the show. Lunch is available. Proceeds benefit the Arts in Action Scholarship Fund.
