Women of the ELCA

Women of the Church is a community of women who commit to grow in their faith, affirm their gifts, support one another in their callings, engage in ministry and action and promote healing and wholeness in the church, society and the world.

Women of the Church

Activities of the Women of the Church include:

  • Making school kits and layette packs
  • Collecting soap, towels, blankets and personal care items for Lutheran World Relief 
  • Giving Christian service after funerals
  • Giving Thanks Offering to the District ELCA
  • Helping with clothing drives for the Crisis Center
  • Helping with special events
  • Providing food for the needy
  • Support the Women's Re-Entry Program
  • Helping to furnish and decorate the church parlor and narthex area
  • Preparing kits for a battered women and children's shelter

Women of the Church hold Circle Meetings once a month and General Meetings twice a year. At the Spring and Fall General Meetings, the women conduct the business at hand and then enjoy a speaker, entertainment or craft project together. In December, the women also gather for a Christmas Dinner and in June a summer picnic.

All confirmed women of Divinity and guests are invited to these activities.
