This weekend, we welcome a new addition to our pews, which we sit in and stand in front of for a relatively short period in the grand scheme of our day-to-day living. And yet, in that precious glimpse of time, we hope for spiritual nourishment, enough of a hope-jolt to get us through the next set of days, a renewed outlook on ourselves and the world, an opportunity to give thanks and praise to God for whatever blessings come to mind that particular worship instance, and more. One way we Lutherans tend to believe for all of those expectations (and then some) to be fulfilled is through the music, whether an organ, piano, guitar, drum, voices, or whatever else.

Our Ministries

Youth Ministry

We have an active and vibrant youth group here at Divinity Lutheran Church. Students who are in grades 9-12 are welcome to join our group.

Music Ministry

Divinity's music ministry features vocal and instrumental groups for all ages, and a variety of musical styles. Come and use your talents to lift beautiful praises to God!

Outreach Ministries

Divinity Lutheran Church provides support to the community in the way of community meals, donations, and volunteering at other social service and faith-based organizations.

Handmade Ministries

Some members of Divinity Lutheran use their time and talents to create handmade items such as prayer shawls, clothing and wooden baptismal boxes.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are lay caregivers who provide one-to-one Christian care to hurting people. It's not a ministry to be taken lightly, but is deeply rewarding and fills a critical need for additional ministers.

Parish Health Ministry

The mission of the Parish Health Ministry is to positively impact the lives of individuals in our congregation by supporting activities that promote the health of body, mind, and spirit.

Divinity Warmline

The Warmline is a recorded daily message to help us cope with life. We don’t always need a “hotline” geared for crisis and traumatic moments. But we all need a "warmline” somewhere to help us get in touch with ourselves, the church, and God. Goethe said, “One should, each day, try to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture, and if it is possible, speak a few reasonable words.” The Warmline helps us do just that! Each day’s offering includes an opening greeting, a devotional, poem, or scripture reading, Divinity prayer concerns, Divinity birthdays and anniversaries, and a closing prayer.

Siblings in Christ of Divinity,

yearend1

Greetings! As we draw 2025 to a close, we wish to thank you for all the ways you have supported Divinity Lutheran Church with your time and talents and countless gifts that have shaped our community of faith for the better! It has been a bitter-sweet year, to be sure, as we prayed Godspeed to our beloved Pastor Doug and Danette after their over twenty years of ministry with us.

yearend2     And yet is because of such impactful leaders, upon the shoulders of giants, not to mention our church’s still one foundation in Jesus Christ, that we are able to continue on this ministry of proclaiming the Gospel of new life to our Divinity family and beyond. We worship because we believe this is the God who loves and empowers us. We spend time together in prayer and study and discerning conversations of how to carry out our faith, knowing that God has blessed us with gifts that cannot be minimized in our collective impact.

yearend3     And through all the changes of the religious landscape, not to mention our own personal life terrain, we remain committed in service to each other and those beyond the church building walls, because we are convinced that’s not only what Christ did long ago in Galilee, but that the Holy Spirit sets us free from sin and death to embody a love that knows no bounds.

yearend4

As we give thanks for the sacred honor to be part of the on-going ministry not just of Divinity Lutheran Church, but the wider church of Jesus Christ for the sake of the world, in 2025, we look forward to another year of hope and possibilities and more grace to be shared.  And as your own precious part in shaping 2025 as a disciple of Christ draws to a close as well, if you are considering year-end contributions for your financial-gift-giving impact, we hope you consider Divinity Lutheran Church, as we continue to do our part in proclaiming the Greatest News of all. If you wish to do so, and desire the contribution to be accounted for 2025, we ask you do so by Sunday, December 28. As always, thank you for being part of the Divinity family!

In Christ,
Pastor Brad Ross
