Spring/Summer 2010
The Latest...
The Sr. High Youth had a blast hanging out at Whirlyball before Christmas break was well underway. We were excited to have many friends join us and are sure to do this again!
A couple weekends following our get- together 5 of our youth and their adult leaders attended the LYO Winter Gathering in Independence, OH. They also donated their Saturday afternoon to helping out at the Ronald McDonald House. While they were there they thoroughly enjoyed playing games, doing crafts, and having snacks with some of the kids and their families staying there at the time. They had such a moving experience that they will be returning there in May.
January and February were full of fundraisers! The youth and their families well raised over $2000.00 between their Super Bowl Sub Sale, the Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction, and Lenten Meals. Many thanks goes out to their Divinity Family for all their support...because of you the youth are able to experience many positive things such as: summer camp, trips all over the country, and more!
Coming up...
March 7th
Our first SNL (Sunday Night Lutherans) Youth Night is just around the corner! Divinity Lutheran is coupling with Parma Lutheran to put on these fun and faith-filled gatherings on select Sundays through the end of the school year. We will meet from 5-7:30pm in the Fellowship hall at Divinity Lutheran to share food, fellowship, music, devotional time, and more with one another. Grades 9-12 are encouraged to come out and join us! Your friends are most welcome! Dinner provided!
Future SNL gatherings will be held on the following Sundays: March 21st, April 18th, May 2nd and May 16th!
March 19-20th
The Sr. High Youth will be enjoying much needed rest and relaxation from all the fundraising at the "overnighter" scheduled on this weekend.
April 16th
All Sr. High Youth are invited to join us for a concert featuring the Christian Rock band "The Gun Show". The concert will begin at 8:00pm.
May 16th
A group of our Sr. High Youth will be helping put on a mini-carnival for the younger kids in the church on this day. The festivities will begin at 11:00am!
May 23rd
Many of the Sr. High Youth will be featured this Sunday due to the fact that it is a Youth Sunday at both the 9:00 am and 11:00am services. They will also take some time to recognize their peers who will be graduating this year during a Senior Appreciation Dedication in the service.
