Children are welcome and encouraged to participate in our worship service. On the second and fourth Sundays of each month, a special message for children is offered during worship. All children are welcome to participate.

Our nursery, Jesus' Corner, is located off the hallway of the main entrance and is staffed by volunteers -- both encouraged and welcome.  Infants and toddlers under the age of two (2) are introduced to The Little Lambs program during the 10a hour.  Each parent is given a beeper, which vibrates in case of an emergency.

Sunday School

Christian education is an important component of Divinity life. From September through May we offer classes for infants through adults during the 10 o'clock hour. Curriculum is age appropriate and delivered in a fun, interactive manner. Our Sunday morning adult classes deal with a variety of topics.

During this same period, we also offer a midweek Adult Bible study courses.  This class meets Wednesday mornings at 9:30a.

During the summer months, we offer 'Funday' School for children ages four (4) through twelve (12). This is done in combined classroom settings during the 10 o'clock worship hour.

Stepping Stones of Faith

Jesus said: "Let the children come to me and do not try to stop them!" Matthew 19:14

A child's faith journey with God begins at the time of their baptism. This is a very special time for both parents and our Divinity family. Parents are brought together for a one-day workshop, a time of commitment and fellowship before the baptism takes place. On the day of the child's baptism, a personalized butterfly is placed on the church banner commemorating this very special day. When a child turns three, the butterfly is returned to the family to remind parents now is the time to start their child's Christian education. This is the child's first Stepping Stone in their Christian life.

In second grade, another Stepping Stone is reached as both parents and church place the "Word of God" in a child's hands with an age appropriate Bible. We do this at a special Sunday morning Worship Service in the month of January.

When a child reaches fifth grade, Stepping Stone number three is reached as parents and children learn about the Lord's Supper and the great sacrifice he made with his body and blood. All fifth graders and their parents are asked to participate in a two-week workshop culminating in the child's First Communion on Maundy Thursday during Holy Week.

Stepping Stone number four-one of great joy-occurs when a youth is ready to graduate from high school. As they get ready to journey into the strange and sometimes scary world of adulthood, we at Divinity send them into the world with our love and a prayer book. This book is to use, cherish and sustain them as they leave childhood behind and go forth in their future with God at their side.

Confirmation

The confirmation years are an exciting time of spiritual growth in a youth's life. It is a special time for both youth and their parents as they delve into their Christian beliefs and the special gifts with which God has blessed them. At Divinity, the confirmation program starts at the beginning of seventh grade with affirmation in the spring of eighth grade. During this time, youth meet on both Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings from 6:45 -8:15p.

Vacation Bible School

Encourage your children to come and join the fun while they learn about God and his Son, Jesus. Vacation Bible School is held in the summer months -- late July or early August.  We meet for one week from 9a - 12 noon and the curriculum are both interactive and age appropriate.  Classes are available for children beginning at infancy through the age of twelve (12).
